No — TikTok Shop is not open to sellers in Kenya. As of August 2026 it lets local sellers sell in 21 markets: the United States, Mexico, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore and Japan. No African market is on that list, and TikTok has not announced a date for Kenya.
Be careful with anyone offering to "open a TikTok Shop account" for Kenyan sellers for a fee.
You can still sell from TikTok
TikTok does not need to run the checkout for TikTok to sell for you. Kenyan sellers do it today in three ways:
- A shop link in your bio. Put one link in your TikTok profile that opens your shop, where customers see your products and prices and pay by M-PESA.
- Show the product, then point to the link. Short videos that show the item in use, the price, and "link in bio" convert better than a caption asking people to DM.
- Sell live. Go live, show items one by one with a number, and let viewers order the numbered item from your shop while you are still on air.
Make the order easy
The weak point of selling from social media is the step after the video: a viewer has to DM, wait for a reply, get a number, send money and hope. Every step loses buyers. A shop link with M-PESA checkout cuts that to: tap, choose, pay.
How Duka fits
A Duka shop gives you the link for your bio, takes M-PESA at checkout, and has a live-selling page for numbered items during a TikTok Live — orders and payments land in one dashboard. When TikTok Shop does come to Kenya, a following you have already turned into buyers is the best start you can have.
