Before you ask.
Do I need a till or a business permit to start?
No. A normal Safaricom number is enough. If you have a Buy Goods till or a bank account, you can have your sales paid into it instead, any time, from Settings, Payments.
When does the money reach me?
Two days after your customer pays. A payout that would fall on a Saturday or Sunday comes on Monday, so Thursday, Friday and Saturday sales arrive together on Monday. A public holiday moves it a day.
What does it cost?
The Free plan is free forever for up to 10 products. Starter is KSh 999 a month and Pro KSh 2,499. We never take a cut of your sales. The only charge on a sale is the 1.5% payment fee as the money comes in; paying it out to you is free.
Does the money go through duka.bio?
No. Customers pay by M-Pesa through Paystack, a CBK-licensed payment company, which pays your sales straight to your number, till or bank account. We never hold your money.
Can customers pay when the order arrives?
Yes. Turn on pay on delivery and customers can choose to pay you in cash or M-Pesa when it reaches them.
How do I deliver?
Use your own rider, or on Starter send through Pickup Mtaani agents across the country. The customer's details come with every order.
